There are two key features in this painting. That is was I love the most.. the contrast between the extreme details and the calming, out of focus background. 
 
The first and more spacious feature is the tree; weathered and textured, it tells the story of countless seasons whispered by the wind. Nestled within this arboreal tapestry rests a young owl in a calculated camouflage. Transforming it into an integral part of its arboreal kingdom.
 
The owl's feathers mimic the varied hues of the tree's foliage - from the deep forest greens to the sunlit yellows and russet browns. Its plumage is a symphony of earthy tones thus allowing it to meld seamlessly into its woody haven.
 
This piece brings an overall softness into a space. A sweet sleeping owl just slumbering snugly in the embrace of a tree's natural crevasse. Evoking a sense of serene enchantment, as if the tranquil heartbeats of the forest itself have found their peaceful refuge.
